A fiber. It feeds bacteria, it is not bacteria. Inulin is also used here as the carrier the probiotic is grown on, so it appears twice on the label.
Probiotic
Lactobacillus acidophilus LA85.
This is the live organism. It is the only ingredient of the four that is alive.
Enzymes
DigeZyme®, a multi enzyme complex.
Enzymes are proteins that break food down. They are not bacteria and they are not fiber.
And one that is none of the three
Organic apple cider vinegar powder.
Dried apple cider vinegar. It is not a prebiotic, a probiotic or an enzyme.
Before you buy
Two things the label does not tell you
There is no CFU count. A probiotic is normally sold on how many live organisms are in a serving, and whether that number is guaranteed at manufacture or at the end of shelf life. This label states neither. We have asked the manufacturer for both and will publish them here. Until then there is no way to compare this to another probiotic.
Inulin gives some people gas. Inulin is a fermentable fiber, which is the whole reason it works as a prebiotic, and fermenting fiber produces gas. Bloating in the first week or two is common, and anyone who reacts to FODMAPs may find it does not settle. Starting with one capsule rather than two is the usual way people ease into it, though the label serving is two.

What is the difference between a prebiotic and a probiotic?
A probiotic is live bacteria. A prebiotic is a fiber that feeds bacteria. This product has both. The probiotic is Lactobacillus acidophilus LA85 and the prebiotic is inulin.
How many CFU are in a serving?
The label does not state a CFU count, and it does not say whether any count is guaranteed at manufacture or at end of shelf life. We have asked the manufacturer for both figures.
What is DigeZyme?
DigeZyme® is a branded multi enzyme complex. Enzymes break food down into smaller pieces. They are not bacteria.
Is the apple cider vinegar the same as liquid ACV with the mother?
No. This is apple cider vinegar dried to a powder. The mother is the live culture in unfiltered liquid vinegar and it does not survive drying.
Will it make me bloated?
Inulin is a fermentable fiber and fermenting fiber produces gas. Some bloating in the first week or two is common. If you react to FODMAPs it may not settle.
How do I take it?
Two capsules daily with 6 to 8 oz, which is 177 to 236 ml, of water.
How should I store it?
In a cool, dry place. It contains a live culture, so keep it away from heat and humidity rather than leaving it on a windowsill or in a bathroom.
How long does a bottle last?
