How to Use
Add warm water and work into a thick lather with your hands or a cloth, then rinse. Keep the bar dry between uses on a draining dish — a handmade bar left sitting in water will soften and disappear in half the time.

Three ingredients doing three jobs

How to make a handmade bar last

Let it drain
Use a dish with slots or ridges. A bar sitting in its own puddle will soften and vanish in half the time.

Keep it out of the spray
Store it away from the direct shower stream. Handmade bars have no hardening additives, so running water wears them down fast.

Use half and let the other half cure dry in a cupboard. A rested bar is harder and lasts noticeably longer.

It is not vegan, despite the old name
Goat milk and honey are both animal-derived. The "oat milk" in the previous product name was misleading — there is oatmeal in this bar, not oat milk. If you want a vegan bar, our Lemongrass & Sage and Shivchar Charcoal bars are made without animal ingredients.

It is fragranced, not fragrance-free
The scent comes from a fragrance blend rather than essential oils. Fragrance is a common trigger for reactive skin, so if you are specifically avoiding it, choose an essential-oil bar from the table above instead. We would rather you bought the right one than returned this one.

Organic and fair-trade sustainable palm, which matters to some buyers and is a dealbreaker for others. We would rather state it plainly than bury it in an ingredient list. If you avoid palm entirely, this bar is not for you.

Is this oat milk soap or goat milk soap?
Goat milk. The bar contains ground oatmeal and goat milk, which is the classic "oatmeal, milk and honey" combination. It was previously listed as "oat milk honey soap", which suggested a plant milk it does not contain. We changed the name rather than leave it ambiguous.
What does it smell like?
Warm, sweet and slightly grainy — the traditional oatmeal-and-honey scent. It is noticeable in the shower but does not linger heavily on skin afterwards.
Can I use it on my face?
Plenty of people do, and the oat texture is fine rather than gritty. That said, it is a fragranced bar, and facial skin is generally less tolerant of fragrance than the rest of you. Patch test on your jaw for a few days first, and keep it out of your eyes.
How long does one bar last?
Roughly four to six weeks of daily showering, but the range is wide and it depends almost entirely on drainage. A bar left in standing water can be gone in two weeks. See the three tips above — they genuinely double the life of a handmade bar.
Is it good for dry skin?
It is a conditioning bar rather than a stripping one — the shea butter, olive oil and goat milk fats mean it cleanses without that tight, over-washed feeling. What we will not tell you is that it treats any skin condition. It is soap, and soap cleanses.
Why is handmade soap more expensive?
Cold-process bars need weeks of curing before they can be sold, and the base oils here — olive, organic coconut, shea butter — cost considerably more than the tallow and detergent surfactants in a supermarket bar. You are paying for the cure time and the oils.
Do you have a fragrance-free version?
Not currently. Every bar in the range is scented, most with essential oils rather than a fragrance blend. If a truly unscented bar is what you need, we would rather point you elsewhere than sell you the wrong thing.
